Huck-Afolabi site named

Marco “Captain” Huck (26-1, 20 KOs) will make the first defence of his WBO Cruiserweight Title on December 5 when he takes on interim champion Ola Afolabi (14-1, 6 KOs) in Ludwigsburg. The 24-year-old clinched the belt on August 29 following an exciting victory over Victor Emilio Ramirez. Less than three months later, he already faces the next difficult challenge. “We are delighted to bring the Huck-Afolabi fight to Germany,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “The new arena in Ludwigsburg will be a great place to stage Marco´s first defense. I am sure it will be an entertaining evening.”

Huck is eager to return to the ring. “It will be a very interesting fight,” the WBO champion promised. “It is hard to predict how Afolabi will fight. He is very dangerous and he certainly has the punching power to knock his opponents out. I really need to be on alert. But I love to knock my opponents out, too, so I think the fans will certainly remember our clash. I am so happy to be world champion after all the hard work I have put in. I will defend my title against Afolabi by all means.”

Huck has just returned to practice following a brief vacation after his strong performance against Ramirez. He is currently shaping up at the Max-Schmeling-Gym. “I always need some time to get back rolling,” he said. “But I will be in perfect shape on December 5.”
