Huck opponent named: Mirko Larghetti

WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck will face Italian Mirko Larghetti on March 29 at the Velodrom in Berlin, Germany. Larghetti is 20-0, 12 KOs and currently holds the EBU-EU belt. He is rated #12 by the WBO. Huck, who last fought January 25 against Firat Arslan, replaced IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez as the headliner when Hernandez was sidelined with a stomach ailment. “Mo problem,” said ‘Kapt’n Huck.’ “I’m preparing diligently with my trainer Ulli Wegner in Kienbaum. As a champion I have to face the strongest challengers – always!”

    Help Support Fightnews.com®

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
