Huerta-Arcos collide July 20

Boxing returns to the Inland Empire of Southern California on July 20th with a scheduled seven-bout card. In the main event of the Thompson Boxing Promotions card, Charles Huerta will take on Eduardo Arcos in a scheduled eight round super featherweight bout at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA. Huerta (16-3, 8 KOs) will be fighting for the first time since his controversial 10 round unanimous decision loss to Christopher Martin in May of last year, where a majority of media members thought that Huerta did enough to win. Ironically, It was the final time Huerta, who now resides in Lakewood, CA, fought under the Golden Boy Promotions banner. Arcos (18-7-1, 15 KOs) hails from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, was stopped in his last bout on May 26th at the hands of Jose Aguiniga in the seventh round in Port Hueneme, CA.

In the eight round co-feature, unbeaten flyweight Miguel Diaz (8-0, 3 KOs) will battle Evaristo Primero (15-14-1, 7 KOs) of El Paso, TX. Hard-hitting Colombian featherweight Daulis Prescott (23-1, 18 KOs) returns to the ring for the first time in over seven months, as he takes on Pablo Torres (4-4-2, 4 KOs) in a scheduled six round bout. Unbeaten Sergio Nunez (6-0-1, 4 KOs) fights Jesus Mendez (3-2, 2 KOs) of Houston, TX in a scheduled six round lightweight bout. Three more scheduled bouts round out the card.
