Hughie Fury set to face ‘quality fighter’ McPhilbin

Father and trainer Peter Fury wants “tough kids that will throw punches back” for young heavyweight star Hughie Fury (8-0, 5 KOs) and Peter sees “quality fighter” Shane McPhilbin (8-7-1, 5 KOs) as the perfect test. McPhilbin is 0-5-1 in his last six, so the quality is debateable, but in any event Hughie faces McPhilbin at the Magna Centre, Rotherham, England on September 14 as he continues to chase his stated goal of beating Mike Tyson’s record of becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion. The 6’7 Hughie is in Belgium helping his cousin Tyson Fury prepare for his September 28th showdown with David Haye at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester.
