Former WBA super lightweight world champion Diobelys Hurtado (41-3-1, 25 KOs) won a narrow split decision over two-time world title challenger Arturo Morua (25-11-1, 14 KOs) on Friday night at Miccosukee Resort and Gaming in Miami, Florida. Morua got off to a good start, flooring an off balance Hurtado in round one. But Hurtado clawed his way back into the fight, and despite a heavily bleeding cut over his right eye, posted a 114-113 win on two judges’ cards. The third judge had Morua up 114-113. Hurtado wins the vacant WBO Latino welterweight title.
