Former world champion Diobelys Hurtado (40-3-1, 25 KOs) is staging a return. The Cuban-born former light welter champ has just signed with Top Notch Boxing, of Denver, Colo., and is back in the U.S. after two years of living in Spain, after suffering several losses to his family. Hurtado says he now ready to take on the best at 140 to 147. “I’m returning with tremendous hunger to prove to the boxing world that I can be a world champion again,” says Hurtado, now training in Brighton, Colo., at the Strictly Boxing Gym. Stay tuned. –Chris Cozzone
