Hussein: Vic won’t get touched!

By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

According to sparring partners Hussein Hussein and Lenny Zappavigna, WBA/IBF/WBC super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 KOs) will be too strong for Jorge Arce (51-4-1, 39 KOs) when they clash on February 7th in Anaheim, California. “He certainly does feel a lot stronger and quicker,” said Australia’s unbeaten IBF Pan Pacific light welterweight champion Zappavigna. Darchinyan’s stablemate Hussein Hussein, who lost two memorable fights against Arce, was confident his friend would overcome the Mexican, provided he didn’t get involved in a slugfest “You don’t want to get into trading punches with Arce, because he loves that and he’s a busy fighter and he can punch, but if Vic gets the distance like he did against Mijares, he won’t get touched.”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
