Hyland tops Chianella

Rising Irish boxing star super bantamweight Paul Hyland (17-1, 5 KOs) added the European Union belt at 122 lbs to his national crown on Friday night in Quarto, Italy, with a convincing twelve round unanimous decision over Italian co-challenger David Chianella (16-6-2, 5 KOs). Hyland’s youth and superior boxing skills were evident, the Irish fighter dominated every single minute of the match as Chianella looked too much tender for this level of competition. The Three judges scored the bout 118-110, 117-111 and an incredible 116-112 for the new EBU-EU champ (Fightnews had it 118-110 for Hyland.) Elio Cotena promoted with Rai Sport Più televising.
