IBF mourns Rodriguez

It is with the deepest sympathies that the International Boxing Federation/ United States Boxing Association extends its condolences to the wife and family of Francisco Rodriguez, who passed away after valiantly fighting a tough battle against Teon Kennedy for the USBA Junior Featherweight title on Friday, November 20, in Philadelphia, PA. “Our concerns for Mr. Rodriguez’s health began when we new he passed out in the corner and was rushed to the hospital,” noted IBF President, Marian Muhammad. Tragedies such as this one are unpleasant reminders of how dangerous this sport can be. The IBF president added, “We were deeply saddened to learn that Francisco Rodriguez passed away two days after such a hard fought battle in the square ring.”
