Several months ago, IBF President Marian Muhammad and Larry Hazzard, IBF Chairman of Officials Supervision, Training & Development, organized a series of meetings with the WBC, WBA and WBO in an attempt to bring about greater levels of standardization in the sport of boxing. The first meeting took place in Mexico, the second meeting was in Texas during the weekend of the Clottey/Pacquiao bout and the four sanctioning organizations will be meeting tomorrow in Atlantic City at Bally’s Hotel Casino. Tomorrow’s meeting will include representatives from the recently formed Boxing Promoter’s Association. “We have a very aggressive agenda designed to bring about some much needed initiatives in our sport and we are very hopeful that a greater working relationship will eventually be fostered with the various boxing commissions in the US,” said Hazzard.
