Former two-division world champion Ivan Calderon could announce his retirement from boxing to continue with a career as a trainer and director of a new gym built in the Amelia neighborhood in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico that will open today at about 11AM with local government officials and the WBO ‘Kids Drug Free’ activities. The 37-year-old Calderon was WBO king of the 105 and 108 pound divisions with a record of 35-3-1, 6 KOs in a professional career that started in 2001. His last fight was a fifth round TKO loss on October 6 when he tried to regain the crown that was his for years against current champion Moises Fuentes.
