Saint Petersburg’s top boxing company Jab Promotions is finishing this year strongly as usual. The next coming Friday, November 27, Vitaly Supichenko and Alexander Yagupov will stage another local show at “Typhoon” club in Northern Palmira, featuring a number of rising talent. In the main event of the evening, welterweight Daniil Utenkov (7-0, 5 KOs) is set to face Belgian light-hitter Nicolas Guisset (20-15-1, no KOs) in a scheduled ten-rounder.
Another welterweight hope and former Tajik amateur standout Sherali “The Lion” Mamadaliev (8-0, 4 KOs) collides with Latvian Sergejs Volodins (6-8, 5 KOs) also over ten. Two young light heavyweights Elis Idrisov (3-0, 1 KO) and Igor Conobeev (3-0) are set for major step-ups in class, as they are taking on veterans Rudolf Asaturyan (8-3, 4 KOs) and Teymuraz Kekelidze (16-29-1, 12 KOs) in six-rounders respectively. Also, taking their parts in the show are Ali Ganibaev (5-1, 4 KOs) and Kazbek Shebzukhov (3-0, 2 KOs) in separate bouts.
Dec. 19 will be marked as a huge date for Jab Promotions. A huge show with two outstanding match-ups between talented local fighters in cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions will be soon announced officially. On the same day, WBO European light heavyweight titlist and WBO #9 Russian Dmitry Sukhotsky (14-0, 10 KOs), who once held an assortment of minor titles at 168lb and 175lb, will make an ambitious crack at WBO full title against the reigning champion Juergen Braehmer (34-2, 28 KOs). Sukhotsky will become the second Jab Promotions’ protégé to fight for a major title this year; the first one being Azerbaijani veteran Ali Ismailov, who came extremely close to upset then WBO cruiserweight champion Victor Emilio Ramirez this May but dropped a narrow and dubious split decision.
