Undefeated super-middleweight prospect, Badou “The Ripper” Jack, will return to Showtime Boxing tonight against once beaten prospect Farrah Ennis. Jack compiled an amateur record of 128 wins with 22 losses. He competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics as a member of Team Gambia, a small country in Africa. Jack is currently ranked #14 by the WBC and #6 by the WBA. I recently caught up Badou Jack to talk about his upcoming bout, his promotional company TMT and his future.

I would ask you how good life is, but judging from your instagram, that jet and yacht life seems to treating you well.

Haha everything is perfect. I’m very blessed and happy to be promoted by Floyd Mayweather and to live a comfortable life. But I haven’t been on the jet yet though, only on his yacht. Haha.

Talk a little about your promotional team, TMT, and your trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad

Well we are a small promotional team with a lot of young, up and coming fighters including champions like Floyd Mayweather and Ishe Smith. We are not like a typical promotional company we’re more like a family with a few fighters and we supporting each other like brothers. Not only the fighters but also the rest of The Money Team.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad is a great trainer and I have been with him since I moved to the states. We have great chemistry together and have tons of fun in the gym.

Your opponent, Farrah Ennis, recently competed on ESPN Friday Night Fights. What are your thoughts on Ennis and your upcoming fight against him?

Well, I haven’t seen much of my opponent except 1 or 2 rounds. But he is a good fighter and I hope we can give the fans a good and entertaining fight. I’m ready.

You’re currently ranked top 15 in 2 of the 4 major organizations, when can expect a major step-up in competition?

Leonard Ellerbe and Floyd have some big things coming up for me. So I would say the next fight or two.

I’m going to throw a big name at you, Mikkel Kessler. Would you take this fight right now?

Yes whatever my trainer says I’m ready for we’ll take. Mikkel Kessler would be a good fight for me in the future. We’re both from Scandinavia so that would be a big fight over there. But I take one fight at a time and am not rushing anything or calling anyone out. We still have a lot to learn.

Barring an injury, can we expect you back on Mayweather-Canelo undercard?

Yes, I will be back in September on the undercard of Mayweather/Canelo.

Message for your fans?
