Mexican IBF super featherweight world champion Juan Carlos Salgado has started the strong stage of his preparation for his mandatory defense and rematch against Dominican Argenis Mendez. Salgado is in the high altitude stage that includes scaking one of the highest mountains in Mexico, “Mujer Dormida” or Iztaccihuatl. Salgado made it to near 5400 meters above sea level, as he looks to build his strength and endurance for March 9 in Costa Mesa, California. “I want to be stronger in my legs. It will be a fight with a lot of intensity and a great moment in my career,” said Salgado
