WBC featherweight world champion Jhonny Gonzalez continues his heavy training at Mexico City’s Romanza Gym with trainer Nacho Beristain. Gonzalez finished the strength stage and begin sparring sessions with lefthanded fighters that resemble the style of his opponent, former WBO former world champion Daniel Ponce De Leon on September 15 in Las Vegas. “Ponce is a dangerous opponent, a strong fighter who has a complicated style, but we have the strategy set out with my trainer….I have seen weaknesses and I think we’ll be the winner that night. This weekend in the early morning we’ll go to run in the Nevado de Toluca to further improve my physical condition,” said Gonzalez.
