By Jeffrey Pamungkas at ringside

Undefeated longtime WBA featherweight world champion Chris John (44-0-2, 22 KOs) retained his title on Sunday with a twelve round unanimous decision over Fernando David Saucedo (38-5-3, 1 KO) at the Indoor Tennis Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. There were no knockdowns in the bout that John won by scores of 119-109, 119-109 and 120-108.

In the co-feature, featherweight Daud Yordan (27-1, 20 KOs) needed just 19 seconds to destroy Damian David Marchiano (16-7-1, 6 KOs) in a clash for the interim WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
