Johnson: I Need A KO
By Bob Hough
Glen Johnson (49-12-2, 33 KOs), still displeased because he believes he beat Chad Dawson (28-0, 17 KOs) in their April, 2008 fight, said Thursday he can’t win a decision in the rematch, which is set for November 7 in Hartford, Conn. “We have to make some adjustments,” the 40-year-old Jamaican said during a teleconference. “I have to get the knockout; it’s the only way to stay away from the robbery.” Dawson, who lives in nearby New Haven Conn., said fans can expect more of what he showed in the first half of their first fight, which he won by scores of 116-112 on all three cards. “The second half of the fight, I got caught up in a slugging match,” the 27-year-old said. “I plan to use my boxing skills for the whole fight.” The fight will be broadcast live on HBO World Championship Boxing, beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. PT.
