Jorge Linares Update

The possibility exists that WBA super featherweight champion Jorge Linares of Venezuela will soon begin campaigning more in the United States if an agreement with Golden Boy Promotions or Top Rank is finalized. It has been known that talks have been ongoing for a long time with both but up to now nothing has been signed, however a source very near to Linares says a decision is close. The same source reveals that Akihiko Honda of Teiken Boxing could be traveling to the U.S. in the next few days to seek to close the deal. Meanwhile Linares is preparing for his October 10 defense in Japan against Mexican Juan Carlos Salgado.
