Juan Carlos Gomez returns to cruiserweight with KO over Buharalija

Former WBC cruiserweight champion Juan Carlos Gomez (52-3, 39 KOs), returning to the cruiserweight division after twelve years as a heavyweight, needed just two rounds to annihilate Adnan Buharalija (29-19-2, 21 KOs) on Friday night at the ASV Halle in the Munich, Germany suburb of Dachau. The 40-year-old “Black Panther” dropped Buharalija in rounds one and two and got the stoppage with a barrage of punches.

In the main event, local heavyweight hero Alexander Petkovic (48-4-4, 26 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Chupaki Chipindi (11-5, 6 KOs) to retain his Global Boxing Union heavyweight title.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
