Mexican four-division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has started his training camp this week at the Romanza Gym with Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain and his team. His goal to have more speed to seek and pursue Manny Pacquiao and win convincingly in Pacquiao-Marquez 4. Marquez is also looking to send Pacquiao to the canvas at least once during the fight.
“This time we will work putting much emphasis on speed,” said Beristain. “We seek to maintain the pace of the fight and see the opportunity to put Pacquiao on the canvas and take advantage of that situation. I know how difficult the fight will be. Pacquiao is a strong fighter.”
Marquez stated, “I’ll be coming with a lot of preparation and confidence. The goal is to try to win the fight by knockout. Two factors accompany me: Intelligence and the experience.”
On a daily basis, hundreds of fans visit at the Romanza Gym to see Marquez’ workouts and perhaps for the final stages of training this will be very difficult to control as the hundreds become thousands of fans wishing to support the Mexican Warrior.
Marquez, 39, and Pacquiao, 33, will fight for the fourth time on December 8 in a series that has three previous matches, the first was a draw and Pacman won the last two by close, controversial decisions.
