Former two-division world Juan Manuel Lopez (32-2, 29 KO’s), who made his first start in nearly 11 months on February 2, most likely will be in his second comeback fight in April before a ‘super fight’ between July and September according to Peter Rivera, vice president of PR Best Boxing Promotions. Rivera also stated that he is already working on the next fights for WBO jr lightweight champion Roman ‘Rocky’ Martinez, McWilliams and McJoe Arroyo and Jose ‘Chelo’ González.
“Probably they’ll all fight in April on various cards,” said Rivera. “As for Juanma, it could next be a tune-up fight. We have analyzed the situation. If there’s no worthwhile world title fight now, we won’t let him sit idle. I have the opportunity to make a really big fight with him between July and September. And up until I will not let him sit idle.”
Last Saturday Lopez scored a ninth round TKO over Brazilian Aldimar Santos Silva, sending him to the canvas three times.
