Judah, Malignaggi go the respect route

By Karl Freitag

Former world champions Zab “Super” Judah and Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi hosted a media conference call on Tuesday in advance of their battle for Brooklyn bragging rights on December 7 at Barclays Center. The atmosphere was a complete 180 compared to the wild and entertaining build-ups for their previous fights (Malignaggi vs. Adrien Broner and Judah vs. Danny Garcia). This time there was no conflict, no cursing, no trash talk, just mutual respect and a mutual desire to be “King of BK.”

Zab Judah: It’s nothing personal against Paulie. It’s like something we gotta go in there and do. This is how we feed our family. This is the game that we chose.

Paulie Malignaggi: Like Zab said, it’s nothing personal as far as a competitive aspect is concerned. That’s the guy in front of me and that’s who I intend to be successful against in two weeks. The game plan is to focus on that and nothing else.
