In Carolina, Puerto Rico today, Judge Hon. Raphael G. Rojas dismissed and declared invalid an injunction procedure submitted by PR Best Boxing against Universal Promotions and former world champion Jose “Carita” Lopez, ordering the bout between Lopez and world ranked prospect Cesar “Junito” Seda. The fight will take place at the new Juana Diaz Coliseum on August 27. “We are working day and night to give the Puerto Rico fight fans the bout they all want to see,” said Universal’s President Javier Bustillo. “Lopez and Seda are two of the best super flyweights in the world, this is a world title caliber fight. We are very happy with the court decision. Justice was made for Lopez, who hasn’t fought in a year, and fight fans worldwide.” The Puerto Rico Boxing Commission immediately ordered a pre-weight ceremony in which both Lopez and Seda weighed 118 pounds. Both fighters were always confident that the fight was going to take place and continued their training and both predicted knockouts next Friday night.
