July battles in June in Baltimore

By Gary “Digital” Williams

Undefeated Suitland, MD cruiserweight Venroy “Hard Work” July will headline a Keystone Boxing Promotions card on Saturday, June 16 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, MD. July, a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica (10-0-2, four KO’s) will take on Justin “The Lumberjack” Howes of Buckhannon, WVA in a six-round contest. July last fought on February 25 and scored a second-round TKO over Zeferino Albino in Millersville, MD. Howes (13-2, 11 KO’s) broke a two-bout losing streak in his last outing when he stopped Dan Shull in the third round on January 28 in Clarksburg, WVA. That was Howes’s first bout in a year.

Undefeated Baltimore welterweight James “Keep ‘Em Sleepin'” Stevenson is still on the card, however, he has had a number of prospective opponents drop out. Stevenson (15-0, 10 KO’s) is slated to be in a four-round contest against Greg Hackett of Philadelphia, PA (2-9) Stevenson has not fought since August 19 when he won a six-round unanimous decision over Jose Angel Roman at Du Burns.

Baltimore junior welterweight Kevin “The Scarecrow” Womack, Jr. (3-0, one KO) faces off against veteran Nalo Leal of Airway Heights, WA (4-15-1)

Baltimore middleweight Lee Snow (1-2) looks to even his record in a four-round contest against the debuting Issa Cuolibaly of DC.

Also, there will be two debuting locals on the card — Baltimore super bantamweight Brady “The Magician” Sensibaugh faces the equally debuting Giovanni Vasquez of Columbia, SC while Baltimore junior middleweight Jeremy Trussell will be in another four-rounder against an opponent to be determined.
