Kamegai-Perez/Washington-Williams added to June 8 Maidana-Lopez undercard

A clash between welterweight contenders and a showdown of heavyweight power hitters will be on tap for the June 8 undercard of Marcos “El Chino” Maidana and Josesito Lopez at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Unbeaten Japanese standout Yoshihiro Kamegai (22-0-1, 19 KOs) faces Venezuela’s former World Champion Johan Perez (16-1-1, 12 KOs) in a ten-round bout. Also undefeated heavyweight prospect Gerald Washington (7-0, 5 KOs) meets veteran Sherman “Tank” Williams (35-12-2, 19 KOs) in an eight round battle. 2012 United States Olympian Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. will see action against an opponent to be determined.

Also in action on the undercard will be unbeaten Ronny Rios (20-0, 9 KOs) facing Leonilo “Veneno” Miranda (32-5, 30 KOs) in a 10-round junior lightweight bout.

Lightweight Jamie “The Nuisance” Kavanagh (13-0-1, 5 KOs) meets Sergio “Sirenito” Perez (27-14, 18 KOs) in an eight-rounder.

Jr featherweight Manuel “Tino” Avila (11-0, 4 KOs) facing off against Jamal Parram (6-7-1, 4 KOs) an eight-rounder and Edgar Valero (2-0, 2 KOs) battles David Reyes (2-3-1) in a four-round bantamweight bout.

Maidana-Lopez, plus Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo against Erislandy Lara and Demetrius Hopkins vs. Jermell Charlo will air on Showtime. Kamegai-Perez and Washington-Williams are slated for Showtime Extreme with “JoJo” Diaz scheduled as a TV swing bout time permitting.
