Former USA based Kronk gym super middleweight Pierre Karam (18-3-1, 6 KOs) will have his second comeback bout on July 24 at Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne , Victoria Australia when he will clash with Thai cruiserweight Anont Donpradith (7-8, 3 KOs) over ten rounds.
Karam boxed out of the Kronk gym in Detroit under the expert tutelage of Emanuel Steward during 1999 and 2000. Karam scored a one round knockout over Kelly Mays in Louisville, Kentucky in 1999 but was stopped in six rounds by the well performed Demtrius Jenkins in 2000. The great Tommy Hearns and Karam sparred several rounds at the Kronk gym. Karam boxed as a heavyweight, 215 lbs, in April this year when he stopped Mike Lloyd in two rounds. He expects to weigh in at cruiserweight poundage on July 24.
Promoter Peter Maniatis who hosts a radio boxing program will be celebrating the 300th show on the night of his Melbourne promotion. Also in action will be tough light heavyweight Jonny Walker (16-3-1, 11 KOs) who will punch it out with Thai Lukkaew Petchudonchai (3-1, 2 KOs) over twelve. Australian based Indian super middleweight Pradeep Singh (14-1-1,8 KOs) will meet Somchai Chimlun (11-10, 4 KOs).
