Kashtanov retains WBA interim supermiddle belt

In a clash for the WBA interim super middleweight title, Ukrainian Stanyslav Kashtanov (31-1, 17 KOs) retained the belt with a tenth round TKO over Costa Rican Jaime Barboza (18-8, 8 KOs) on Saturday night at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine. Barbosa was down from a body shot and the bout was halted in the tenth after a barrage of punches by Kashtanov.

Also on that card, former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (34-1, 23 KOs) tuned up for his October 26 showdown with Kell Brook with a fourth round TKO over Carlos Adan Jerez (37-16-3, 18 KOs), and former #1 rated light heavyweight Ismayl Sillakh (20-1, 16 KOs) was victorious when Konstantin Piternov (13-4, 4 KOs) couldn’t continue after round six.
