Katsidis opponent named

Former world champion Michael Katsidis “The Great” (28-6, 23 KOs) will make his much anticipated return to the ring against tough Indonesian Eddy Comaro (27-17-5, 11 KOs) when he headlines “Smithy Brings the Big fights 6″ on March 14 at Rumours International in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Katsidis will step into the ring for the first time in almost two years and says he is very excited to do it in his hometown of Toowoomba.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the ring,” said Katsidis. “It has been eight years since I last fought in Toowoomba and I am very excited to have this fight in my hometown in front of my friends and family. I know Eddy is a tough, strong and experienced fighter but I am training hard and I will be ready to put on a great show and make it a successful night.”

Promoter and Katsidis’ trainer and manager Brendon Smith said having Michael fight in Toowoomba is not only huge for the garden city, but presents Eddy Comaro with a massive opportunity which can be dangerous.

This fight will take place as the main event of “Smithy Brings the Big Fights 6″. The card will also feature adopted Toowoomba boy, Filipino star Jack “The Assassin” Asis as well as undefeated and current WBC youth world champion “The Great White” Brayd Smith.

Undefeated local KO artist “The Silencer” Kris George will put his “0″ on the line against fellow undefeated boxer Ozan “Crash” Craddock for the Queensland Welterweight title.

2012 Olympian and current undefeated WBC World Youth light heavyweight champion Damien “Super” Hooper goes up against the tough current Victorian Light heavyweight champion, Toowoomba’s Josh “Hitman” Webb.

Heavyweight Herman Ene-Purcell “The Hermanator” will take on current Queensland heavyweight champ Kyle Brumby. Local boxers Graham Blay and Cory “The little Hit man” Hess will also step back in to the ring along with running champion and crowd favorite Tressa “T-rex” Lindenberg. Fellow local Sam Williams is also set to make his professional debut.

Tickets to “Smithy Brings the Big fights 6″ are on sale now from Smithy’s Gym where prices start at $55 for general $75 for ringside B and $95 for ringside A.
