Unbeaten welterweight contender Kell Brook will face the man who has thus far given him the toughest fight of his pro career, when “The Special One” will engage in a return fight with Carson Jones, 35-9-3(25) on July 13th. Sheffield’s Brook, 29-0(19) will face the man from Oklahoma at Craven Park in Hull, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn has announced.
Brook has recently suffered heartache, seeing his IBF title challenge of reigning welterweight champ Devon Alexander fall through three times due to injury; once due to Alexander being injured, twice due to Brook himself being unable to fight. Now he will end nine months of inactivity with a return with the man who pushed him so close before losing on points last July.
Also on the card will be the pro debut of 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell, who will face a TBA. Now signed with Hearn, Campbell is expected to go far.
“This is going to be a special night for Hull and a great night for British boxing,” Hearn said proudly. The whole city will have a chance to witness the start of Luke’s professional journey whilst also watching a huge card.”
Also set for the card, which will go out live in the UK on Sky Sports, will be Tommy Coyle-Derry Matthews for the Commonwealth lightweight title and the unbeaten Rocky Fielding Vs. Martin Concepcion for the English super-middle belt.
