Vasquez stops Stevenson in nine

In a war between unbeaten welterweights, Sammy “The Who Can Mexican” Vasquez (16-0, 12 KOs) scored an impressive ninth round TKO over James “Keep ’em Sleepin” Stevenson (21-1, 14 KOs) on Friday night at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Great two-way action in every round. Vasquez dropped Stevenson in round eight and the bout was waved off in round nine. Time was :25.

In a great fight, lightweight Monty Meza Clay (36-3, 22 KOs) scored a spectacular tenth round TKO Over Alan Herrera (32-7, 21 KOs). Meza Clay dropped Herrera in round six, but Herrera came back to rock Meza Clay in round nine. The local fan favorite Meza Clay wasn’t about to disappoint his hometown fans, however, and he came out throwing non-stop punches in round ten to rock Herrera and force a referee’s stoppage. Time was 2:00.

Big-punching 2012 Olympian middleweight Ievgen “The Ukrainian Lion” Khytrov (6-0, 6 KOs) destroyed unfortunate Willie Fortune “500” (17-2, 8 KOs) in the first round. Khytrov jumped right on Fortune and blew him away with a barrage of punches. Time was :30.
