Kiattaweesuk-Verano meet Friday

By Ray Wheatley–World of Boxing

World bantamweight contender Tantong Kiattaweesuk (15-0, 11 KOs) will defend the IBF Pan Pacific 118 pound title against Filipino Janrey Verano (16-12-1) in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday. Verano has boxed several world class boxers in Thailand including current WBC #6 and IBF #13 David Lookmahanak. Promoter Jimmy Chaichotchuang said: “Kiattaweesuk should have a good test against Verano who gave world class Thai boxers Chatchai Sasakul and David Lookmahanak tough fights. He was unlucky not to get the decision against Lookmahanak only losing by majority decision after twelve rounds. Kiattaweesuk is an excellent boxer who has represented Thailand as an amateur and was also national Muay Tai champion.” IBF #12 Kiattaweesuk is chasing a shot at the IBF bantamweight champion Yonnhy Perez.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
