Hard-hitting super bantamweight Kiko “La Sensación” Martinez (28-4, 20 KOs) of Spain, continues his preparation at Extreme Boxing School in Santa Paula, California, as he is set to take on Jhonatan “Momo” Romero (23-0,12 KOs) of Colombia on Saturday, August 17th live on HBO’s B.A.D. (Boxing After Dark) from the Revel Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey in a 12-round championship bout for the IBF super bantamweight title which is being presented by Gary Shaw Productions in association with Thompson Boxing Promotions.
Martinez vs. Romero will serve as the co-feature attraction to the middleweight clash between Daniel Geale (29-1, 15 KOs) and Darren Barker (25-1, 16 KOs) as part of the split-site tripleheader that includes Nathan Cleverly vs. Sergey Kovalev for the WBO light heavyweight title.
In his last outing, Kiko Martinez, who is managed by middleweight king Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez, scored a second round knockout over Damian David Marchiano (18-10-1, 10 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC Latino super bantamweight title this past April in Argentina.
