The fight between unbeaten jr middleweight James Kirkland and Michael Walker on the May 2 Pacquiao-Hatton undercard in Las Vegas is definitely off. A request by lawyers of Kirkland, who was arrested last week on a weapons charge, to be released from custody under supervision to go through with the fight against Walker was denied Friday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Andy Austin in Austin, Texas. Kirkland, one of the most exciting young fighters in boxing, is facing a sentence of up to ten years.
