Klitschko-Charr face off

A press conference for Saturday’s clash between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and Manuel Charr took place today in Moscow. Charr told Klitschko that the fight was a present he has dreamed of all his life and he plans to win by knockout. Klitscko vowed that there will be no presents for Charr and no one in the world can knock him out.

There is also a talk of a clash between Vitali and David Haye in February. Haye, who was condemned by the WBC for fighting Derrick Chisora in July, has now been welcomed back to the WBC, however much depends on whether Klitschko is successful in his run to be elected into the Ukrainian parliament in October.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
