Klitschko dominates, then stops Pianeta

WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51 KOs) scored a brutal sixth round KO over previously unbeaten Francesco Pianeta (28-1-1, 15 KOs) on Saturday night at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Klitscho shook Pianeta with a right hand early in round one. More big power shots landed by Klitschko in rounds two and three. Klitschko floored Pianata with a right hand in round four. A left hand put Pianeta down in the fifth. The end came in round six when Klitschko put Pianeta on the deck again. Time was 2:52.

Former female middleweight champion Christina Hammer (14-0, 7 KOs) “hammered” out a ten round unanimous decision to dethrone previously unbeaten WBF female super middleweight titleholder Zita Zatyko (15-1-1, 11 KOs). Scores were 100-89, 99-90, 99-90. Hammer also claimed the vacant WBO women’s title.

Unbeaten heavyweight Mike Perez (19-0, 12 KOs) won an uneventful ten round unanimous decision over Travis Walker (39-10-1, 31 KOs).
