Klitschko promises knockout

IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KOs) today spoke about his upcoming September 11 mandatory defense against former heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KOs). This is a rematch of their first fight which took place 5 years in what was one of the most exciting heavyweight fights in recent memory. Wladimir called Peter “The most competitive fighter I’ve ever faced” and vowed to “defend my title in the most impressive way possible….I see myself knocking out Samuel Peter, right hand, left hook, whatever.”

Trainer Emanuel Steward added that Peter is “the most dangerous opponent Wladimir has fought in five years….not the same fighter that fought Vitali Klitschko….I think he’ll knock him out….I can’t see it going longer than five or six rounds and that’s stretching it.”
