IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight Wladimir Klitchsko (52-3, 46 KOs) is training in Going, Austria for his tough upcoming fight against WBA champion (in recess) Ruslan Chagaev (25-0-1, 17 KOs) on June 20th at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Klitchsko has seven sparring partners in camp and spars 10-12 rounds daily in order to prepare for Chagaev. “For me it’s a difficult fight. I have just two weeks for preparation,” said Klitschko, “Ruslan Chagaev is a lefthander [Wladimir had been preparing for David Haye] but I have experience and victories over strong southpaws like Sultan Ibragimov and Tony Thompson. I decided to not cancel the fight on June 20th because I don;t wish to upset the fans. There will be an overflow crowd and it will be an excellent fight.”
Word is the fight will be televised in the USA on ESPN Classic, after HBO pulled the plug. RTL will televise in Germany.
