Klitschkos split with K2 East

By Alexey Potapov

K2 East Promotions has been dissolved after the Klitschko brothers have split with K2 East partner Vadym Bukhkalov. K2 East was created in November 2007 through the partnership of the Klitschkos’ K2 Promotions and National Box Promotion. A new entity, K2 Promotions Ukraine, was established where brothers are the single owners. Why the Klitschkos left the company is not known. The fighter roster of K2 East is split with heavyweight Alexander Ustinov among those going with the Klitschkos and Yuri Nuzhnenko and Zaurbek Baysangurov among those remaining with Bukhkalov. The promotional status of some boxers may be in dispute. The first K2 Ukraine event is scheduled for April 24 in Kiev.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
