Kono, Denkaosen to collide for vacant WBA 115lb belt today

Ex-WBA super-fly champions Kohei Kono (29-8, 12 KOs) of Japan and Thailand’s Denkaosen Kaovichit (62-3-1, 26 KOs) will square off in a quest for the vacant WBA 115-pound belt today in Tokyo, Japan. The weigh-in ceremony took place at the fight venue Korakuen Hall yesterday with Kono tipping the beat at the class limit of 115 pounds to 113.75 for Denkaosen.

The WBA officials are as follows: referee Raul Caiz Sr. (US); judges Stanley Christodoulou (South Africa), Guillermo Perez (Panama), Pasquale Procopio (Canada); supervisor Yangsup Shim (Korea).

It will be telecast through TV Tokyo to Japan and Thailand as well. This show is presented by Watanabe Promotions.
