Kotelnik-Maidana Update!

WBA jr. welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik (30-2-1, 13 KOs) has informed that he will fight against Argentinian puncher Rene Maidana (25-0, 24 KOs) in February. “I can inform that on February 7th I will fight against Maidana,” stated Kotelnik. “The fight contract is not signed yet, but he is my mandatory challenger. I don’t know about him much yet, but I will study him during preparation in Germany. Now I have begun preparations for the fight in the Ukraine. Why won’t I fight with Salita? First, I’ll knock out Maidana and then I’ll do a fight against Salita. If he wants this fight I’ll accept a call.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
