Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym of Thailand and Rafael Hernandez of Venezuela are set to go on Thursday for the WBA vacant interim super-bantamweight title. The fight will take place in a makeshift stadium at the Morseng Building in Rangsit and be televised live in Thailand. The 28-year-old Kratingdaenggym (37-1, 26 KOs) weighed in at 122 pounds and Hernandez was one pound lighter. Poonsawat is ranked #1 in the 122-pound division and Hernandez is rated #6. The winner of the fight is likely to challenge WBA regular champion Bernard Dunne of Ireland in a mandatory championship bout in September.
