WBO/WIBF/WBF super featherweight Champion Ramona Kühne (19-1, 6 KOs) will defend her belts against Halanna Dos Santos (14-4, 9 KOs) on Saturday at the MBS Arena in Potsdam, Germany. Below are quotes from the press conference at the Congress Hotel Potsdam:

Ramona Kühne: “Obviously I’m a little excited, but there is this special rush. After a long injury lay-off, it can’t happen quickly enough. I wish today was Saturday. Dos Santos is tall, but not quite as much as I would have thought or how she acted in the videos. She has a high knockout ratio, but with my good defense I’m not too worried. It certainly is a tough match. The fact remains that I am the world champion and she must bring it. Everything has gone very well so far, the knee is good, the sparring gave me back the necessary ring hardness. I’m very excited! The dream to box here in my home of Brandenburg to have my fans backing me will spur me to a special performance. And if the Brazilian’s cold, I’ll get her a jacket, of course. Only on Saturday you will quickly become very warm and they will have to wrap you up extra warm! ”

Halanna Dos Santos: “Ramona is the world champion, I have the necessary respect. Only I had a long and intensive preparation. I feel physically very fit and I want Ramona’s title! After a good 13 hour flight from Sao Paulo to London I arrived in Potsdam in the damn cold. That’s what I saw on the Internet that it’s winter in Germany. But, here now I’ve seen snow for the first time and it was so cold. I wouldn’t have thought. Unfortunately I didn’t have a warm jacket. Perhaps SES or Ramona can lend me a warm jacket?”

Promoter Ulf Steinforth: “We will see a great championship fight from Ramona. She’s back in the best shape and will have a great performance.

“I’m delighted that with the WBO Youth title fight light heavyweight Dominic Basel we have another highlight here in Potsdam. Dominic Bösel has earned for his last great performances this title fight. He is full of talent and that’s what he’ll show here.” Bösel (10-0, 4 KOs) will face Harut Sahakyan (5-0-1, 2 KOs).

“The response here in Potsdam is great. We have a super beautiful hall, the best support. Also from the city and also the Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck has helped in many places that we can make this event a special event for the city of Potsdam and Brandenburg. Thanks also again to Axel Schulz, who has done a lot and has opened some doors.”
