Last Friday night, California Hall of Fame promoter Bobby D. Presents along with A&T Gym and Jorge Marron Productions kept their monopoly on the San Diego fight scene with a fireworks-filled fight card presented at the home of southern California boxing, the Four Points Sheraton in San Diego. In the main event, local favorite light welterweight Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles (6-0-1, 2KOs) of Imperial Beach, CA, remained undefeated with a landslide unanimous decision over Jose “Polvora” Mendoza (7-9, 3KOs) of Jamay, Jalisco, Mexico, over six rounds. All three judges, Tony Crebs, Alejandro Rochin and Fritz Werner, saw it 60-54 for the San Diego native.

In the semi-main event, Dominican Republic transplant, flyweight Basilio “Chocolate” Nieves (15-1, 3KOs) was successful in his first fight in the United States when he earned a six round unanimous decision over Alejandro Solorio (4-6, 3KOs) with scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56.

In another six round scheduled bout in the lightweight division, Merida, Yucatan’s Eduardo “Lobito” Rivera (9-0-1, 3KOs) took a unanimous decision over the much more experienced Juan Jose “Pinocho” Beltran (27-21-3, 18KOs) of Los Mochis, Mexico. Scores were 60-54 three times.

Brandon “Gladiator” Adams (8-0, 4KOs) of Los Angeles, CA, took his KO ratio to 50% of his wins with a second round KO over Culiacan, Sinaloa’s Yair “Pulpo” Aguiar (10-18, 4KOs) in a super welterweight clash originally scheduled for six heats.

Ohio flyweight Jesus Rojas (2-1, 1KO) suffered his pro loss at the fists of local Jonathan Quiroz (1-1) via a four round unanimous decision with scores of 40-36 twice and 39-37.

Escondido, CA’s Roque Ramos (0-0-1) will have to try again to get his first professional win after battling to a four round super featherweight draw against Carlos Morales (0-1-3) Highland Park, CA.
