Fightnews.com contacted promoter Sampson Lewcowicz who updated us on the Caballero-Garcia situation:
“If I have not submitted contracts to the Nevada Boxing Commission, it’s because I don’t have signed contracts. I hope at this time that the representative of Caballero (Rogelio Espiño) will review and confirm that we have a date of September 7 with Showtime and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in the name of Sampson Boxing LLC. If there is no Caballero-Garcia fight, Sampson Boxing is going to evaluate a possible claim for any damages incurred because as ignorance is the source of the problem this is not acceptable to American laws. If we are unable to confirm the date of September 7 to present the Caballero-Garcia fight, we would lose the entire show and it would result in great economic losses. As of today there is still the possibility that the fight is on and there is still interest in making the fight and I have a hope to make the fight.”
