The appointed judges are Jose Cobian from San Diego, California, along with Mexicans Miguel Moran from Tepic, and Jorge Flores from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Omar Minto, from Reynosa, Tamaulipas is the supervisor of the contest.
For the WBO strawweight championship between Mexican Manuel “Chango” Vargas (26-3-1, 11 KOs) and Filipino Donnie Nietes (24-1-3, 14 KOs), the referee is the Puerto Rican José Rivera, the judges will be Americans Bryan Thomas and Nardone Carry from Florida, along with Puerto Rico’s Jose Torres.
For the non-title meeting between triple world champion Fernando “Cochulito” Montiel (39-2-1, 29 KOs) and Alex Valdez (21-3-2, 15 KOs) the referee in charge is José Rivera from Puerto Rico, with local judges assigned by the Commission de Box y Wrestle of State of Nayarit.
