Veteran warrior Antonio Lauri (33-4-3, 12 KOs) became the new Italian welterweight champion after scoring a unanimous decision win over Giuseppe Langella (17-6-2, 7 KOs) on Friday night at the Local Sports Hall in Malnate, Italy. The local hero Lauri proved once again that his heart and technical style are an important factor and the win was well deserved. Although Lauri is a veteran of many European title matches, it was the second national professional title in over eleven years of pro career.
On the undercard, the next European challenger at 140lbs and everlasting fighter, Giuseppe ‘The End’ Lauri (50 -6, 29 KOs) tested his condition and destroyed Hungarian Ferenc Szabo (13-13-2, 6 Kos) in less than a three minutes. The card was staged by OPI 2000, headed by Salvatore & Cristian Cherchi.
