Unbeaten lightweights collide Hungarian WBC Youth lightweight champion Gabor Veto (18-0, 14 KOs) will meet undefeated German Philipp Schuster (14-0-1, 9 KOs) on the Klitschko/Peter-undercard in Commerzbank Arena in front of more than 50,000 spectators in Frankfurt on September 11th. Veto’s trainer is Italian former contender Giuseppe “The End” Lauri, who won a varirety of regional championships while amassing a record of 50-7, 29 KOs. Lauri, who now lives in Bekescsaba in the Eastern part of Hungary. Lauri is a very good friend of Veto and the former Italian national champion will travel to Veto’s Swiss hometown of Berne and help Veto prepare for the most important fight in his career.
Giuseppe Lauri: “I’m very happy that I’m allowed to coach the biggest Hungarian prospect on such an excellent international stage with millions of spectators all over the world. It’s a special thing because Veto will fight in the same weight-class as I do. I am sure he will win the fight without big problems and will impress again many international boxing-experts!”
Gabor Veto: “I’m proud that such a boxing-legend like Giuseppe Lauri will be in my corner. That gives me a lot of motivation and self-confidence. I never had a better preparation and I never felt in better shape than now. I want to make a spectacular and excellent show for the German spectators!”
Schuster actually is in training-camp in Zakopane, Poland. The German media reports that he trains very hard with some local sparring-partners.
Father and trainer Uwe Schuster: “We will make Hungarian salami with Gabor Veto. He will knock him out for sure.I am very pleased that the fight is already in three weeks, I can’t hold Phillipp any longer – he’s aggressive like a lion!”
