Lazarte-Solis draw

39-year-old IBF champ retains title

Thirty-nine year old IBF light flyweight champion Luis Alberto Lazarte (48-9-1, 18 KOs) of Argentina retained his title against former IBF light flyweight champion Ulises Solis (32-2-2, 21 KOs) of Mexico with bout being scored a majority draw. The official judges scorecards read 113-113 twice and 117-109 for Solis. The bout took place at the Club Once Unidos, Mar del Plata, in Buenos Aires, Argentina where Lazarte was born and raised. Osvaldo Rivero promoted the event. The bout was a very sloppy affair where many of the rounds were very hard to score. Lazarte was deducted points in rounds four and ten for hitting Solis behind the head.
