Rodrick Ray scored a fifth round stoppage over John Lennox in a scheduled eight round heavyweight bout that highlighted a four bout card at the Robert Treat Hotel on Wednesday night. The bout was evenly contested through the first four rounds when Ray landed a vicious combination that sent Lennox down and the fight was stopped at 1:59 of round five. Ray of Jackson, TN is now 4-5-1 with two knockouts. Lennox of Carteret, NJ is now 10-2.
In the eight round co-feature, late replacement Fitzgerlad Johnson scored an eight round unanimous decision over Tommy Rainone in a Jr.Middleweight bout. Johnson landed the harder blows and beat Rainone throughout the bout. Scores were 79-73 on all cards for Johnson, who is now 3-6. Rainone is 17-5.
Lavarn “Baby Bowe” Harvell scored his second consecutive vicious knockout when he took out Philly Tough Guy Brian Donahue in the first round. Harvell landed a huge right hand that knocked Donahue out cold for several minutes. Harvell of Atlantic City is now 11-0 with six knockouts. Donahue is 2-3-1.
In the opener Anthony “Juice” Young scored a entertaining six round unanimous decision over Christian Steele in a Welterweight bout. Young of Atlantic City won by scores of 58-56 on all card and is now 5-0. Steele of Staunton, VA is 2-4-1.
