Strong possibilities exist that the Venezuelan Jorge “Niño de Oro” Linares could defend his WBA super featherweight world crown on the July 18 Mayweather-Marquez card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Linares was to defend his title against Mexican Josafat Pérez this weekend in New Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, but that bout was postponed due to swine flu precautions in the country.
